Rozaimi: 'Kemenangan saya kemenangan Nik Shahrul'
Sinar Harian

Azizon leaves with a heavy heart
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: Goalkeeper Azizon Abd Kadir admitted he left the State with a heavy heart as he and his family flew back to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday evening. The Perak-born custodian was one of the 15 players whose contracts were not renewed by the Sabah Football Association after three years with the team.
After his final coaching session with the Tabs junior players at the Likas Stadium on Sunday morning he told Express Sports that he was rather disappointed that he was unable to help Sabah avoid the drop at the just concluded season. "It was just unfortunate that I could not do more for the team but I wish the team all the best and hope they will do well next season."
He admitted that the past one-year had been the lowest point in his career when he was relegated to the bench by the coaches for the most part of the season. "I must say the first year was one of the highlights in my career when the team won promotion to the Super League." He said he owed a lot to goalkeeper coach Awal Taham and Jasrih Jabirin for their help and advice in his training as well as on coaching the young kids.

Mafry on cloud nine
New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: Outgoing Sabah’s utility player Mafry Balang is on cloud nine after winning his first ever major medal in his football career. The Kg Long Pasia, Sipitang-born player, was part of the Kelantan side that edged Armed Forces 3-2 in extra time, to lift the prestigious Malaysia Cup crown on Saturday.
Mafry, 28, who was one of the 14 players, including two foreign imports, to be dropped from the Sabah team as the Sabah FA attempts to rebuild a squad for the future, came on in the second half and did his part in the victory over his former team – the Armed Forces (ATM) – at the packed Shah Alam Stadium. “After playing for many years, finally I have a Malaysia Cup medal to show.
So obviously, I’m very, very happy to have finally won a major cum final,” the father of one said when contacted yesterday. Mafry is believed to be the only third player of this new generation to have won a Malaysia Cup medal after Ronny Harun, who did it with Kedah, and Walter Antahar, who was part of the now defunct Selangor MPPJ side that trounced Sabah 3-0 in the 2003 final. However, unlike Mafry and Ronny, Walter did not see action.

Irfan tagih bisa Rozaimi
myMetro

More than 20 hopefuls make second phase of selection
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: More than 20 out of about 100 players made it to the second phase of the Harimau Muda B selection trial held here at the Likas Sports Complex on Thursday. The shortlisted players will have the final chance to impress the selection panel today (Friday) to book a place for the final selection trial to make it to the 2013 national junior squad on Oct 28.
The trial here was the second leg to be held in Sabah after Tawau which was held two days ago. The trials was conducted by the squad's head coach Ismail Ibrahim and assisted by it's goalkeeper coach Mazlan Wahid as well as local coaches Justin Ganai, Matasan Ahmad and Jasrih Jabirin. Ismail told Express Sports that they are basically looking for a player with the right physique and possesses good skills.
"Aggressiveness is another important area as well as the players' movement and understanding of the game," he added. He said that they are constantly looking for new blood as there is need to fill up the space left vacant by those promoted to the senior sides. He said they are targeting about 50 odd players from all around the country for the final selection trial to be held in Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Sabah FA likely to rope in ex-Gunner
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: Ex-Welsh international defender Rhys David Weston is most likely to be offered a contract by the Sabah Football Association to fill up one of the two foreign imports quota for the team's challenge in the Premier League next season provided he passes the medical test. The Arsenal Academy graduate who came here barely a week ago had impressed both players and coaching staff as well as spectators with his commanding ability on the pitch and his skills on the ball.
With his vast experience in the sport, it will be a coup if the Sabah FA managed to get his signature before his departure this Friday. What really made him stand out from some of the imports the team had over the years was his down to earth attitude. He wasted no time to mix around with the local players and he also helped out to collect all the markers and balls after the training session as shown on Tuesday at the Likas Stadium despite the heavy downpour.
A feat you hardly see any of the local players do unless they were asked to by the coach. The central defender, who captained Scottish side Dundee to second place in the 2011-2012 season in the first division admitted to Express Sports that he had never heard of Sabah before he boarded the plane here from London after he received a call from David McCreery.

Daily Express
Tawau: The Harimau Muda B Open selections will be held in Tawau and Kota Kinabalu with the hope of unearthing another football hero said head coach Ismail Ibrahim, Tuesday. Cebagoo FC – Village outfit joining elite
New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: As the saying goes a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and that is the case for Cebagoo FC, who were once a mere village outfit.
That will all change following their imminent appearance in the FAM Cup.
The Sepanggar-based outfit is all set to become Sabah’s sole representative at the competition, which is dubbed as the country’s third division league, next season.
Cebagoo will be the fifth local club to have made it into the competition after Taya, Likas United, Internacionale, Gunosukod Pangaits and Beverly FC. It has been five years since Beverly FC featured in the tournament. Beverly did well to reach the final before bowing out to Proton FC 4-2 in the final. Despite the defeat, they were among the four teams that earned promotion to the Premier League.
The other two teams were Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Felda United. Unfortunately, they decided to pull out obviously due to their financial status. Of the four, only Felda United still remain in the M-League where they have grown in status and are currently among the Super League teams.

CLUB HAS BIG PLANS
New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: Cebagoo FC has officially unveiled their plans to take part in the FAM Cup League next season on Friday.
But the Sepanggar-based club are still a few steps away from turning their dream into reality to eventually become the fifth local club to have represented Sabah in the competition after Taya, Likas United, Internacionale FC, Gunosukod Pangaits and Beverly FC.
They have already got the nod from the Sabah FA, but they still need to fulfill several requirements set by the FA of Malaysia Competition Committee, or else their plan will remain as a dream. That aside, Cebagoo FC are a little bit more ambitious than the rest, as they too are determined not to become a one-season wonder. Instead they want to compete against the best in the country for as long as they could.
To do that, Cebagoo FC advisor Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub, who was seen pretty much ecstatic about the whole idea at the club’s launching on Friday, insisted that they need to have proper planning, not only from the aspect of their participation in the national league, but also from the development side of the game. And Hasnol sees the club moving towards the right direction.

Sinar Harian
MOTIVASI penyerang pinjaman Selangor, Rozaimi Abdul Rahman semakin melonjak selepas pasukan 'angkatnya' itu berjaya meloloskan diri ke pusingan separuh akhir Piala Malaysia 2012.
Kemenangan agregat 5-2 ke atas Johor FC Selasa lalu menyaksikan The Red Giants bertemu juara Liga Super Kelantan di kubu kuat pasukan itu di Kota Bharu, malam esok.
"Diturunkan atau tidak bukan perkara pokok. Saya hanya menunggu arahan bos (Irfan Bakti Abu Salim). "Apa pun, saya akan berikan komitmen 100 peratus untuk membantu Selangor menjuang Piala Malaysia dan merealisasikan Misi 33. "Saya juga teringin mendakap trofi itu buat pertama kali dalam karier," katanya.
Misi 33 semakin mencapai matlamatnya seperti dilaungkan Persatuan Bola Sepak Selangor (FAS), tetapi pasukan Kelantan bakal menjadi penghalang.

Cebagoo boss justifies stopping friendly match
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: The decision to stop the 'friendly' match between Sabah selection and Cebagoo FC after only 30 minutes at the Institute Intan football ground on Wednesday was justified, according to Mohd Joh Hj Wid, who is the president of Cebagoo FC. He called up Express Sports and explained his action in calling his players to leave the field after Reithudin Ag Emran was dismissed by the match official.
"I was made to understand that it was supposed to be a match to gauge the players from both sides and to have a player down so early in the match, I reckoned there was a need to stop the match to avoid any misunderstanding between the players that may lead to things boiling over." He also disclosed that the match was arranged between him and Andrew Manjanggim who first contacted him for a match so that the State team could try out the two foreign players from Nigeria who came to ply their trade here.
"I decided to take up the offer as it will be a win-win situation for both teams to try out our respective players otherwise we would not have been there if we were not invited in the first place." "Besides we were more than willing to give support to his request even though our team are hardly ready for a proper friendly match against the State team after only having just started our training recently."

Reithudin sees red in friendly
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: Cebagoo FC's FAM Cup pre-season friendly match with the Sabah selection turned sour as the match was abandoned after about only 30 minutes played at the Institute Intan football field on Wednesday. Ex-State captain Mohd Reithudin Ag Emran who was the guest player for Cebacoo saw red when he was given his marching orders by the referee for abusive language.
Cebagoo FC president Mohd Joh Hj Wid subsequently called off the match and tried to calm the officials. The FAM Cup debutants were then on top during the early exchanges until the referee awarded a free kick against them to the dismay of Reithudin. The match was a harshly arranged affair without the knowledge of Sabah coach David Mccreery.
He told Express Sports that it was supposed to be a recovery day for the players after two friendly matches played over the weekend against Ranau selection and the Brunei national team. He was visibly unhappy with the arrangement but subsequently put out five players who came to try their luck for a place in the team next season including two Nigerians and three University Putra Malaysia players for the match.

Brunei, Sabah in tame draw
Brunei Times
JASON THOMAS
More importantly though, it is obvious that the team has yet to gel and look like an experimental side. The squad is constantly evolving and yesterday's performance in front of a sparse crowd at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas was the first time players from DPMM FC and those from the Under-21 side which won the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy in March combined with the new faces in the team three separate factions trying to work together as one.
Though DPMM FC players such as Md Najip Hj Tarif and Md Hendra Azam Md Idris featured for the side during their 5-0 loss to Indonesia in a friendly on Wednesday, and during a series of friendlies against Malaysian clubs last month, last night's game saw the appearance of DPMM FC captain Rosmin Hj Kamis, strikers Shahrazen Said and his brother Adi, midfielder Azwan Salleh and goalkeeper Wardun Yussof for the first time in national colours.
