Open selections hoping to unearth more gems

 Tawau: The Harimau Muda B Open selections will be held in Tawau and Kota Kinabalu with the hope of unearthing another football hero said head coach Ismail Ibrahim, Tuesday. He said the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is serious in identifying new talents in the State through the open selections to be held at the Tawau Sports Complex on October 8-9 and in Kota Kinabalu on October 11-12.

 Some 40 players from all over the country will be selected to undergo the final training phase at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. The open selection will be handled with the squad's goalkeeper coach, Mazlan Wahid, he said. "Players who succeed in proving their abilities will join the Harimau Muda B squad or Harimau Muda A to fill the empty slots left by players for the 2013 season," he said, here, on Monday. 

He was also accompanied by Tawau Sabah Football Association (Safa) Secretary, Ismail AWang. Ismail said FAM is scouting for talents nationwide, which include Tawau. He also urged players to attend the selection to display their abilities, fitness and technical skills. Ismail hoped Safa will continue to polish the potentials of local talents.

 Meanwhile, Ismail also stressed that there was no problems raised on Sabah players being treated differently by FAM from donning the national jersey. He added FAM is very much serious in their to search of players without any favouring during selection.
