Friendly: Sarawak 1-1 Sabah
Borneo Post
Earlier Sabah had taken the lead off a free kick after their player was fouled at the edge of Sarawak’s penalty box. Mitrovic Srecko’s well executed kick went straight at the net, leaving goalkeeper Sani Anuar Kamsani no time to dive for a save. The score at half-time remained at 1-0. Sarawak launched more attacks from the start of the second half.
They were finally rewarded when Alirad found the net after connecting a pass from a team mate with a header. The Crocs had a good chance to go ahead when they were awarded a penalty by the referee for a foul in the Sabah penalty box. But new import Gabor Gyepes failed to put the ball past Sabah goalkeeper Mohd Fadzli Paat.

A 'pleasant' selection headache for Milo
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: There are at least 16 players fighting for the starting line-up in the Sabah Premier League team at the moment according to Milomir Seslija. The Bosnian coach said this on Sunday after the team's final training session at the Likas Sports Complex before their departure to Kuching for the friendly match against Sarawak tonight.
"The players in the team have been doing great in training and fighting hard for the first 11 places and it gives me a headache in a positive way as to who will make the team," he said. "Right now, I would say there are 16 players looking strong for the starting line-up and this coming friendly matches will determine who will make the first team in our first match of the season in the FA Cup competition against Kuantan FA on Jan 21."
He added that the match against Sarawak is good for him to judge the players especially on their character in front of the expected big crowd. "As I said before, the match is part of our preparation for the coming season, so result is not everything. What is important is for us to identify the weaknesses in the team and try to rectify them now."

New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: Seslija Milomir sees light at the end of the tunnel for Sabah. He said things are moving quite positively for his side in their build-up to the new season, before revealing they have gained superb support and backup by the Sabah Football Association as well as his charges.
“We are trying to change something for the best interest for the team, and we will do it slowly and steadily,” the Sabah head coach said. “And I’m very happy to note that the FA management has been very supportive of what we are doing, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to them, especially our President (Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman).
“They have done a great job, and the supports that I have received made my job a lot easier,” he added. Milo revealed that even the players’ salary has been paid earlier than previously, and hoping that this positive sign will continue. “The good things are happening, and this is a good indication and a good start as well. After all what we have gone through from the start of our preparations, I think we are now pretty much on the right track,” he added.

Rozaimi tekad lebih tangkas jumpa Laos
Berita Harian

Johnny to coach Sarawak President Cup squad
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: Ex-Sabah senior team assistant coach Johnny Dominicus has signed a three-year deal with the Sarawak Football Association as their President Cup head coach on Tuesday morning. The 40-year-old who was earlier reported to have been snatched up by the Perlis Football Association as their assistant coach clarified that he had never put pen to paper with the Northern state's side.
"I was there (Perlis) helping them during the selection trial for their 2014 Premier League squad and I was then offered a year contract but before I could make any decision, Sarawak officials tracked me down and asked to join them instead." "They came with a better deal and what really convinced me to join them is their sincerity in wanting me to develop their junior squad in a long term basis with the offer of a three-year contact."
He said he will be given a free hand by the FA and his main target is to develop a winning team for the Sukma Games to be held in Sarawak in 2016. The former State centre back who is no stranger to Sukma glory having guided the Sabah team to a historic win at the Pahang Sukma Games in 2012 said it was an honour to be given the trust by Sarawak FA to groom their junior players.

Rexjeson delight after signing one-year deal
Daily Express
Kota Kinabalu: Striker Rexjeson Pitrus said it is a 'dream' to be playing for the State senior team after he signed a one-year deal with Sabah Football Association late Tuesday afternoon. The 21-year-old who was earlier dropped by Milomir Seslija in an earlier trial when the Bosnian first took over the team three months ago was delighted to be back in the team.
"It's like a dream. I want to work hard now and establish myself as a first team player," said Rexjeson. He said it was a big surprise to be called up to train with the team again after the friendly matches against the State team almost two weeks ago. "It was definitely a shock to my system as I was not even in the list of seven players that were shortlisted by Milomir after the recent Datuk Seri Musa Aman Cup inter-zone tournament."
"To be honest I didn't carry much hope coming back here again after the earlier experience where I was one of the first to be shown the exit." He said he fully understood the decision by the coaches then as he did not perform up to mark during the earlier sessions. "For me, it was a completely new experience and I just could not project myself better in that environment with so many seasoned players around and it was probably due to fright."

New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Premier League squad is heading to neighbouring Indonesia as their pre-season preparations go into full swing.

“This trip is to get them ready (as a team) for the new season,” he said when met prior to their departure yesterday. Two of their most recent games saw them defeat Keningau Selection 2-1 before losing to the same side 1-0 in the second fixture. “While it is always good to win, results do not concern me at the moment.

Musa: Imports can revive Sabah’s fortunes
New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman hopes the arrival of three foreign imports would provide the impetus for the Sabah squad to do well in the Premier League next season. Musa who is also the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) president said he was confident that the three imports would help revive Sabah’s past glory.
He said the three imports are from Australia, Croatia and Serbia. “Next season we have increased the number of import players to three as an effort to beef up the squad. I am optimistic they (imports) will lead Sabah football into a new era,” he told reporters after chairing a SAFA meeting, here yesterday.
Musa said Sabah would be coached by Bosnian Milomir Seslija, a former Sabah player from 1994-1997 and together with newly appointed team manager, Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, there was every reason to be optimistic of better team management. Seslija, 49, was in the Sabah squad that won the FA Cup in 1995.
