KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman hopes the arrival of three foreign imports would provide the impetus for the Sabah squad to do well in the Premier League next season.
Musa who is also the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) president said he was confident that the three imports would help revive Sabah’s past glory.
He said the three imports are from Australia, Croatia and Serbia.
“Next season we have increased the number of import players to three as an effort to beef up the squad. I am optimistic they (imports) will lead Sabah football into a new era,” he told reporters after chairing a SAFA meeting, here yesterday.
Musa said Sabah would be coached by Bosnian Milomir Seslija, a former Sabah player from 1994-1997 and together with newly appointed team manager, Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, there was every reason to be optimistic of better team management.
Seslija, 49, was in the Sabah squad that won the FA Cup in 1995.
