Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Rhinos is hoping for goals galore from Nigerian Prince Tochukwu Nnake after securing his signature as the fourth foreign import for the 2016 season.
Sabah Football Association Deputy President II Datuk Lawrence Gimbang said the 1.90m striker who came for trial last week was offered a one-year-contract.
"A top target man is our main priority this season and we hope he will bring goals because that's the reason why we signed him," said Lawrence.
"We try our best to make the young team stronger this season and we also hope he can work well with his new teammates especially the local youngsters in the team."
Prince when contacted said he is happy to play for the Rhinos and hope he will deliver the goods.
Meanwhie, all foreign imports including Prince are likely to see action when Sabah Rhinos take on Juta FC in a friendly match at the Keningau Sports Complex Tuesday starting 8pm.
Coach Vjeran Simunic said he will try to play all available outfield players during the match.
"The match in Keningau is part of my training programme as well as a team bonding trip and of coures we will try to put out all the players."
Defender Igor Cerina, midfielders Mario Tulio Lopes and Dedi Kusnandar are the other foreign imports in the team who have signed up early.
The team will return the next day and their next trip is to Tawau for the Safa Tawau Invitation tournament which will be held at the Tawau Sports Complex from Jan 29-31.
Also in the line-up are Brunei National team and Super League team Felda United.
The opening match will see Sabah Rhinos taking on Brunei before their final match against Felda United on Jan 31 while Felda United and Brunei will meet on Jan 30.
All matches will start at 8 pm and tickets are on sale at RM10 for open air and RM15 for covered stand.
