Kota Kinabalu: KDM Malaysia are a step closer to making Keningau Sports Complex Stadium as the home venue for Sabah KDMM FC in their FAM campaign this year.
Representative from Football Association Malaysia (FAM) Mohd Ziani A Bakar who carried out an inspection recently was satisfied with the facilities provided.
"In terms of convenience and necessity, there is no problem for this venue to host FAM matches... but there are still some aspects that still need to be corrected before the officially confirmation, which I think it's not a problem," he said.
It is understood that KDM Malaysia will get the help of Sabah Sports Board (LSNS) to ensure the stadium is fully in place as their main venue for the FAM Cup competition is scheduled to begin on February 28.
Zaini also praised KDM Malaysia in their initiative to host the matches in the 3,500 capacity stadium for their team.
"This is a good for the development of football and I hope football fans, especially people from the interior will come and support the team."
Meanwhile, President of KDM Malaysia, Datuk Peter Anthony who accompanied Ziani at the site said it is his dream to see that folks from the interior are able to watch Malaysian league matches there.
"We will try to make it reality for the people here and I am confident that the venue will be ready before the start of the league in February."
