Johnny looks set to leave Sabah

New Sabah Times

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah assistant coach Johnny Dominicus is heading for the exit door. It is believed that he has not been offered a new contract to be part of the State Premier League squad for the new season. His current deal will expire on November 30, 2103, and the New Sabah Times Sports can confirm that there is nothing on the table for the former State player, who only last year guided Sabah to win their first ever football gold medal at the Malaysia Games in Pahang.

And this prompted him to brave himself and look for greener pastures elsewhere. Johnny, who is currently on leave, is now in the northern State of Perlis. However, when contacted yesterday, he said that he has yet to make up his mind whether to join the Premier League outfit.

“Although the offer is already on the table, I have yet to put pen to paper with them (Perlis). I need to really give it a good thought before I commit myself,” said Johnny, who is being offered the assistant coach job. Despite that, Johnny is certain to leave Sabah, as his wife Dayangku Hariate Pg Hj Akhamis, is understood to have taken a one year leave (unpaid) from her employer the Kota Kinabalu City Hall, and would join him.

With Johnny leaving, Sabah head coach Seslija Milomir will need to look for a replacement, with two former State players Burhan Ajui, who is currently with the Reserve League squad, and Jelius Ating, assistant coach of the Sabah Cebagoo FC, under his radar.
