POOR TURNOUT … Milo, (2nd left), seen at the trials at the Likas Stadium yesterday. |
Unfortunately, it turned out to be otherwise, and Milo said youngsters nowadays would enjoy playing with their computer games than representing Sabah. “I hope to add more local players into the team. So I hope more will be coming in the next three days,” he said.
Even if Milo cannot find any talent during the scheduled four-day trials, he will have another opportunity to have a good look at Sabah’s talents at the grand finals of the Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman Cup Inter-District Football tournament, which has been slated for November 11 to 16 in the State Capital. For the record, the qualifying tournament, which involves eight groups comprising a total of 17 districts, will be conducted at eight venues from November 1 to 3, 2013 with the winners making it into the grand finals.
Yesterday, Cebagoo FC striker Rainol Masaat was the only notable name among the 10, with the rest mostly teenagers. More players are expected to attend today’s trials while those from the Peninsula are also expected to be here by the weekend. Today’s trials will start from 4pm.
