KOTA KINABALU: Tambadau Juniors are looking to continue their winning momentum as they visit Kedah for their President’s Cup Group A tie to be played at the Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar, today at 4.45pm. The state’s Reserve League squad are coming off back-to-back victories after defeating Armed Forces FC 1-0 at the UMS Stadium last Friday, as well as notching a 2-0 win over Penang at the Likas Stadium last month.
Head coach, Justin Ganai is expected to field the same starting line-up as last week’s match which comprises two players from the senior team, namely Ariusdius Jais and Mohd Syukri Baharun. “I hope the players continue their positive performance as seen in the match against Armed Forces FC last week where we created a lot of chances despite only scoring once. “The same situation will occur in tomorrow’s (Thursday) game against Kedah.
Therefore I have advised the players to be patient and play their own game, create more chances and hopefully score one or two goals to collect all three points,” he said. The evergreen state coach added that Kedah have a strong football foundation with a lot of talented junior players but he is adamant that Sabah’s youngsters can fare well against their stronger opponents. Sabah sit seventh in the 10-team group with six points obtained in four matches played so far, whereas Kedah are in fourth, while leaders Selangor maintain their perfect start to the season with 12 points.
