Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Rhinos will play Super League team Perak in a friendly at the Likas Stadium on June 9.
It will be the team's second match since the break and head coach Mike Mulvey welcomed the arrangement for his players.
"It is important that we play games and we did play some internal games which we should be doing but we need to play against some oppositions and it is very good that the management has been able to organise a game for us against Perak on the night of June 9.
"So we are very happy about that. And since it is a Super League team coming I am sure the fans will flock to the game because they haven't seen us play for a while, so it is a great opportunity."
The coach also disclosed that the team's training session has been going smoothly for the past two weeks.
"The training has been great and the boys have worked extremely hard and we have done a couple of double sessions .
"We are addressing certain issues that we have . If you considered the number of goals that we have conceded in the first half (of the season) and if we would just cut that down to one third , that would be a very good sign for the next part of the season provided we score goals and we are working on that."
Sabah Rhinos next match is against Negri Sembilan away on June 19 and they had only played one friendly since the break started on May 1 , against Harimau Muda team on May 15 where they lost 3-0 with all local line-up.
With all the foreign imports set to return for full training this week, the team should be in full strength against Perak on June 9.
