Milomir: We are on right path

New Sabah Times

KOTA KINABALU: Seslija Milomir believes they are on the right path of the road in their preparations for the Premier League 2014 challenge. The Sabah head coach said the players had given him some positive signs, and he hopes it will continue for the rest of their preparations. He said this after seeing his side nick a 2-1 win over Keningau Selection, which is his first since taking over the Sabah hot-seat a few months ago, at the Keningau Sports Complex field on Saturday night.

“I’m happy for the players. They have tried their best. We could have scored more, but the condition of the field did not help either sides. “The goal that we conceded was goalkeeper error, but things like this happen in a game, so it is not a big problem as long as we don’t repeat the same kind of mistake,” said Milo.

Milo said at the moment, he is not looking at the score line or the result, but is more concerned on how the team reacts to his training method. “This trip (Keningau) is part of our preparation, and is just like our daily/normal training where we still train prior or after our friendly match,” said Milo.

He said he was also happy with the fitness level of his charges, adding that they passed with flying colours. The team will play their second friendly at the same venue on Tuesday before returning home. Then they will go for a two-week friendly tour to Indonesia from Dec 2 to 16.

Meanwhile, the State Reserve League squad is also on a friendly trip where they defeated Ranau on Saturday. Head coach Justin Ganai and his boys will take on Sandakan followed by Telupid before returning home.
