SABAH CEBAGOO FC tactical gamble paid off as they beat PB Melayu Kedah 1-0 in the FAM League tie at Jitra Mini Stadium today.
Nur Syahri Saili was the match winner as his long-range effort in the 70th minute hit the post before bouncing off the back of the goalkeeper and into the net.
This was Cebagoo’s second win in three matches.
Head coach Razali Mohd Zinin was satisfied with the victory, which was achieved after an improved performance compared to their last outing.
“After the defeat to Kuantan FA last week, we tried different things today.
“We wanted to pack the midfield because we were easily exposed by Kuantan.
“The gamble paid off as we won with better display on the pitch.
I’m happy with the overall performance of the players,” said Razali
Cebagoo had won their opening game against Malacca 2-0. They lost to Kuantan FA 0-1.
As for PBM Kedah, it was their first defeat in the country’s third division football league having won twice on their travels.
Cebagoo FC will next face PBAPP FC in Penang on March 6.
