Sabah Cebagoo taste defeat in FAM League

sports247.my

DEBUTANTS Sabah Cebagoo FC tasted their first defeat in the FAM League today after going down 0-1 to Pahang Kuantan FA at the Likas Stadium today. Hopes were high that the home ground advantage would bring a second league win for Cebagoo but for a first half strike from Hazwan Fakhrullah separating the team.

Hazwan scored from a 25-metre freekick that went in off the post, leaving left goalkeeper Shahrul Boidi beaten after 22 minutes. The homesters never recovered and they were partly responsible after failing to create any meaningful chances throughout the game. Cebagoo had a penalty claim denied by the referee in the 82nd minute when striker Rainold Masaat went down inside the box after a challenge from defender Amirullah Abd Razab.

Referee Ahmad Tajuddin, however, signalled for a free kick much to the disappointment of the homesters, although he sent off Amirullah for a second yellow following the incident. Cebagoo have collected three points from two matches following the season opener 2-0 win over Malacca last Sunday.
