KUALA LUMPUR (May 18): Sabah FC are level on points with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the top of the Super League table after defeating Penang FC 4-2 at the Bandaraya Stadium in Penang last night.

The Rhinos squad opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through a header by Baddrol Bakhtiar, but the hosts equalised through T Saravanan in the 51st minute.
Stunned by the goal, Sabah regrouped and began launching more attacks before Jackson De Souza put the team back in front in the 57th minute, while Baddrol scored from an overhead kick just three minutes later to give the visitors a 3-1 lead.
Oozing with confidence, Ong Kim Swee’s men turned the screw on the home side and got the fourth goal through Stuart John Wilkin in the 66th minute.
Hilal El-Helwe added the second for Penang FC in the 76th minute, but it was not enough for them to get anything out of the game, as Sabah picked up the three points to make it 15 in total, tied in first place with Johor Darul Ta’zim who have a couple of games in hand.
In Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC beat Sarawak United 2-1 at the State Stadium in Kuching.
Sarawak opened the scoring through S Chanturu in the 15th minute before KL equalised through Paulo Josue in the 36th minute, and capped it off with J Partiban’s winner in the 89th minute.

In Kedah, Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC drew 0-0 against Negeri Sembilan FC at the Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Star.
Meanwhile, in the sole Premier League action of the night, UiTM FC got their first victory of the campaign after beating the FAM-MSN Project Squad 1-0 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras.
The goal came from midfielder Amirul Aiman Ibrahim in the 43rd minute. — Bernama
