KOTA KINABALU: Tambadau Juniors have been handed a major boost ahead of their President’s Cup first away clash against UiTM FC at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam today.
National Under-22 flanker Ariusdius Jais has been released from the senior side to be part of the travelling squad that left for the match yesterday.
The nippy Arius, who had just returned from national duty, is certain to start the 4.45pm tie, albeit that he is to be deployed in the attack.
“I hope the players can put up a better show this time around. But most importantly, we must score goals. I hope Arius will show us the way,” said head coach Justin Ganai when contacted yesterday.
Arius was not part of the side that was narrowly beaten 1-0 by Pahang in their season opener at the UMS Stadium on Monday.
Justin said they are determined to make a quick rebound from their slim defeat. He also hinted of minor changes to his first team.
“Apart from Arius, I’m likely to replace two players who started the game on Monday.
“Aris will replace Faizulnizam Aziz and will spearhead our attack together with Muhammad Faqhrurazi (Ahmad).
“Owen (Piou @ Piyau) will take over from Suhaizan (Nazmie Etin) at the right flank, while Mohd Hizaz (Mohd Lokman) will start ahead of Zulkifly (Harun) at the left of midfield,” Justin said.
He said he will retain the rest of the players that will see Joslan Aping as his No. 1 ball stopper with Kelvin Pengiran and Mohd Izzat Aziz at the heart of the backline, with Mohd Hasrul Nizam Roslan on the left and Gerard Gadit on the right.
Mohd Syukri Baharun and Mohd Aidil Safee will orchestrate the team’s engine room. The rest of the travelling players are Muhammad Shazwien Sapawi, Erick Odo, Hilarion Odo, Muhammad Syahmil Nizam Igbal Khan, Suhaizan, Faizulnizam and Zulkifly.
