KOTA KINABALU: The State President Cup squad kept a sixth consecutive clean sheet in their pre-season friendly by beating the State Youth Cup squad 2-0 at UMS Stadium on Tuesday.
Johnny Dominicus who was in charge of the team in the absence of Justin Ganai saw his players struggle to break down the younger side coached by Billyton Vun Kit Ming in the opening half.
With most of the entire players retained from last season squad, they dominated the match but failed to find the net until the two goals scored in the second half.
The encounter was the second meeting for the two sides, and in the earlier match, the President Cup squad won the tie 3-1 at the Likas Synthetic pitch last month.
The team had so far scored 38 goals and only conceded one from seven matches played to date.
They will open their campaign against Perlis here at Likas Stadium on February 21. - GL Oh
