KDMM FC ready to rock Keningau Stadium

 KOTA KINABALU: Sabah KDMM FC are ready to rock the Keningau Stadium when they take on PKNP FC of Perak in the FAM Cup Group B opener on Sunday. The build-up to the tie is gaining momentum and the host team are expecting a big crowd. Talk of the opening match has been circulating around town with excitement reaching fever pitch as the host team also eagerly await their first test of the season.

 Yesterday, Sabah KDMM FC President Datuk Peter Anthony declared that they are ready to play host to the visiting PKNP. “Preparations are all set and done and KDMM FC are more than ready to give their opponents a welcoming they will never forget,” Peter said. “This is our first time playing in the Division Three league.

Our preparations are not limited to the team’s aspect only but also as a host. “Thank God our preparations and responsibilities as a host have gone smoothly. The field is in good condition, all safety aspects are in check, spectators’ comfort has also been looked into as well as facilities for both teams,” he added.

 Peter who is also president of the Malaysia Kadazandusun Murut Organisation hoped the match on Sunday would make a lasting impression on the Interior folk. “I believe Keningau Stadium is ready to play host for the FAM Cup League including to welcome the arrival of spectators. “I hope the match will go on smoothly and will be an entertaining one to all Sabah KDMM FC fans.

To the fans I urge them to be disciplined and let this inaugural match be one that is full of good memories for us all,” he said. It is said that the Keningau Stadium has a 4,000 capacity. In that respect, the public are urged to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment. They are also urged to arrive early to avoid causing congestion. Tickets are available today from 12pm to 4pm at RM10 each. Tickets will also be sold on match day from 10am onward to kick-off time at 4.15pm.
