Things get worse for Sabahawks

sports247.my

SABAH’S bad start to the season just got worse after an embarrassing 0-2 defeat to UiTM in a Premier League match in Shah Alam today. The Sabahawks, who were dumped out of the FA Cup on Wednesday, had hoped to breathe life into their faltering league campaign with a win against UiTM.

Without a win and goals in their last five games and having conceded 12 in the process, UiTM looked to be an easy prey for the Sabahawks, but the homesters had other ideas. After forcing a scoreless first half, UiTM scored their first goal of the league through Mohamad Adam Syahir Rosli in the 58th minute and never looked back.

Muhamad Hafizuddin Harun then made sure of the points when he added the second in the dying minutes. The defeat could prove costly for Sabah as it was the fourth of the season, having also lost to Sime Darby (1-3), Kuala Lumpur (2-3) and Kedah (0-2). The Sabahawks’ wins were against KL SPA Putrajaya FC (2-1) and NS Betaria (2-0). Sabah will next face Pos Malaysia at the Likas Stadium on Feb 18.
