Kota Kinabalu: Newly appointed Sabah M-league assistant coach Johnny Dominicus is very excited with his new role.
The DBKK staff said he accepted the task with open arms after being endorsed by the Sabah Football Association recently to assist David McCreery in the 2013 season.
The former President Cup coach who guided the state team to a historic win in the Pahang Sukma games together with Matasan Ahmad told Express Sports that he was very grateful for the chance given to him by the committee and vowed to give his best in his role and at the same time learning the trade from David.

Johnny who was once the understudy to previous Sabah head coach Gary Philip revealed that David was always willing to listen to grouses from the players.
" I would say David is very good at communicating with the players and it helps a great deal as the training so far have seen the players given their all in each training session and their time keeping is also spot on and it is refreshing to see."
He also disclosed that unlike most of the other coaches before him, David had been an established player long before he became a coach and his experienced as an all round player will be an asset to the players in the team especially the juniors.
David had played in a number of top flight clubs in England including Manchester United where he started his career as a teen as well as Newcastle United, QPR and he was also a veteran in two World Cup finals for Northern Ireland.
The Irish man said he has no problem in recommending Johnny as his assistant.
"No problem for me. He is a good lad and he has been helping me for the past few month since I started the training session so he is obviously my first choice."
