KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has been drawn together with defending champions Kelantan in the President’s Cup challenge that is expected to kick off on January 26, 2012.
The draw that was held in the national capital on Friday also saw this year’s losing semi-finalists Bukit Jalil Sports School being drawn in the same group (A) as Sabah.
Team manager Juil Nuatim when contacted was being modest about the draw.
He said it is a fair draw and that he has no complaints.
“What is more important is for us to live up to expectations and be consistent in every game. As long as we can do that, I think our chances of doing well will always be there,” said Juil.
Juil also said that they will be playing several friendly matches against local clubs as part of their preparations for the new season.
The 13-team Group A comprises Kelantan, Bukit Jalil Sports School, Sabah, Johor, Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru, Police, Pulau Pinang Sinar Manja Maisara, KL Sime Darby, Johor Melodi Jaya, Melaka, T-Team, Sekolah Sukan Tengku Mahkota Ismail and Kedah.
Group B comprises last year’s runners-up Johor MP Muar, Selangor PKNS, Sarawak, Pahang, Penang, Perlis, Armed Forces, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan Betaria, Perak, Johor FC and Kuala Lumpur.
