KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah FA has shortlisted a total of 27 players to attend the second phase of selection trials for the State Premier League 2016.
In announcing the names yesterday, its Secretary General Alijus Haji Sipil said that these players were identified from the first phase of open selection trials that was held on October 8 and 9, 2015 at the Likas Stadium.
“These players were picked among the about 800 hopefuls who attended the two-day trials that was under the supervision of our Premier League head coach Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah,” said Alijus yesterday.
“These selected players will begin the second phase of selection on November 2, 2015. They are requested to report to Mohd Azraai on November 1 at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex hostel at 1pm.
“They are requested to bring along necessary training gear for the selection.
When asked on how long was the duration of the second selection, Alijus said these selected players will be given enough time to prove their worth.
“They will train together with the current State players, who are still under contract with the FA.
They will train under the head coach until he makes his choice,” he added.
The selected players are as follows – Awang Rizan Bungsu, Mohd Adiafandi Dullah, Jude Valentine, Mohamad Mohd Safar, Shahrudin Yakup, Yazili Yunat, Azrul Ejati Damsah (Kota Kinabalu); Zulmanshah Aling, Rafis Etin, Mohd Khaliz Rishad Khan, Umareng Bacok (Sandakan); Aldrian Agus, Khairol Ampalang, Flexsius Amil (Tenom); Shazrin Sidin, Renuil Kuasin, Shakoy Jusit (Nabawan); Rume Rilek, Dendy Lowa, Dibley Lazarus (Keningau); Nazrien Sani, Rahmanshah Marajeh (Tawau); Mohd Alif Haiqal (Tuaran); Ricco Nigel Milus (Kota Belud); Janryanus Paulus (Kudat); Mohd Azwan Abd Fattah (Semporna); and Shafie Talib (Pitas).
