Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Rhinos team manager Datuk T C Goh was pleased to see the team achieved their early target after the 2-0 home win over Kuantan FA on Friday.
It was their fourth win in five matches and the three points collected saw them leading the table standing with 12 points.
"We have earlier set ourself a first stage target of getting 12 points and pleased the team managed just that from a possible 15 points.
"I must thank all the players for their hard work and commitment in achieving this.
" They played as a unit and followed the instruction given and it was an additional bonus for the team to stay at the top of the Premier League as well.
"It has been a long awaited dream for the fans to see the team up there. It is a good tribute to them and we also created history of sorts with a 100pc home results so far this season."
He also praised striker Eamion Zayed for his doubles that helped to sink the Kuantan FA and reckoned it will do wonders for his self-belief.
" It has been a very difficult start for him, Everyone needs confidence, when you score two goals it will lift your confidence, and I am happy he scored twice on the night.
"We are looking forward to see more goals from him in the remaining season."
Goh again thanked the fans for the big turnout on Friday night and hoped they will continue come to the stadium and give their support to the team.
He also reminded all parties that it is still a hard road ahead in their quest to gain promotion and the management will try their best to ensure they achieve their target at the end of the season.
"The journey is still a long way to go and we will continue to focus on teamwork and we will also try to strengthen our squad by next month when the transfer window opens."
