New Sabah Times
BOBBY GONZALES … No 10 has signed for Police.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah discards Leopold Alfonso Otong and Cebagoo FC midfielder Mohd Arifyanshah Jafar are the latest State footballers who are set to ply their trade elsewhere this upcoming new season. The duo is expected to leave for the national capital any time soon now after impressing during their recent trials with the new outfit which is believed to be Premier League side Felda United FC’s second team.

The new team will be making their FAM Cup debut this upcoming season. Leopold, 23, was initially set to join Cebagoo FC, but has had a change of heart and so has Arifyanshah, who only joined Cebagoo FC last season. Leopold has been donning Sabah colours for the last few years, but was surprisingly left out of the State side for the new season.

As for Arifyanshah, prior to joining Cebagoo FC last season, the Tawau lad had a one-year stint with the State Reserve League side. He also had a short stint with Johor FC Reserve League team. With this latest development, at least 12 Sabah footballers will be donning different colours next season. Zuraindey Jumai is currently with Kedah while Bobby Gonzales has signed for Police from Sarawak.

Both Ronny Harun and Mafry Balang will be in their second season with Sarawak, who will be featuring in the Super League. The rest are Sumardi Hajalan, Hardy Charles Parsi, Sharuddin Yakup, Alto Linus, Shahrul Azhar Ture, Radzi Mohd Hussin and Mohd Farid Saibun. Sumardi is rumoured to be joining Negeri Sembilan while both Hardy and Sharuddin have signed for Johor Darul Takzim II. Alto is joining Terengganu T-Team while both Shahrul and Radzi will don Selangor PKNS colours Farid is believed to have signed for Melaka.
