Daily Express

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has given the nod to have the lighting system upgraded at the Likas Stadium to meet the minimum criteria as set by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) so that night football matches could be held there. Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan said on Sunday that with the consent given by Musa who is also the President of Sabah Football Association he will ensure that the Ministry will do their best to have the job done by January 2014 before the start of the FAM league season.

"At the moment we are still waiting for the fund from the Ministry of Finance. With the green light given and expectation from the Chief Minister, we will carry out the task as soon as possible as some of the parts need to be imported from overseas and we will make sure that the floodlight from each of the pole will reach 1000lux as required by FAM as currently each pole only produces about 600 lux."
