A second half goal from Mohd Shapawi Maiddin saved Sabah Cebagoo FC from further disappointment in the FAM League.
The match against Kuantan Port ended 1-1 at the Temerloh Stadium in Pahang on Sunday.
“The homesters got an early goal from a freekick but we fought hard to find the equaliser.
It came in the second half when we were awarded a penalty kick. Shapawi made no mistake from the spot,” said coach Razali Zinin when contacted today.
The shared points did little to improve Cebagoo’s league standing, where they are currently in the bottom half of the table on 17 points from 18 matches.
Meanwhile, Cebagoo will host newly crowned champions Penang in their penultimate FAM League match on June 23.
The Sabah club side will conclude their league campaign away to Tumpat FA seven days later.
