Sabah Cebagoo FC aiming to bounce back

Daily Express

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Cebagoo FC stand a great chance of grabbing full points as they take on bottom of the table Perak YBU FC in their FAM Cup clash at the City Stadium today (Sunday) at 4.45pm. After the disappointment of losing 2-3 to ATM last Sunday, where the team were denied at least a share of the point after a spirited display with only 10 men in the second half, the players are set to bounce back to winning ways.

Coach Razali Zinin when contacted in Perak said the team spirit is high and he is confident that the players will deliver today. "I hope the players will continue their momentum as shown in the second half of the match against ATM where their never-say die character almost grabbed a point despite being a man short."

"Of course they need to stay on their feet and not be overly confident just based on the fact that they are meeting a team who are bottom of the table and still chasing their first win in the competition." He said he will employ a 4-4-2 format at the start of the match and Shairul Boidi who missed the last couple of matches because of injury is back to man the post. Midfielder Mohd Nizam Jefferi who played brilliantly in the season opener but had a sudden dip in form in the following matches may have won himself a place in the starting line-up again after showing a glimpse of his former self when coming on as a second half substitute against ATM last week.

Striker Rainol Masaat who has been one of the most consistent players in the team will again lead the attack today while captain Reithaudin Ag Emran is suspended following his red card received in the previous match. Sabah Cebagoo FC are currently fourth in the table standing with two wins and three losses and have collected six points so far.

Their next match is a home tie against Kuantan Port on March 24. Meanwhile, PB Melayu Kedah were found guilty of fielding Mohd Sheril Anuar Saini during the match against Sabah Cebagoo FC on March 3 without a state transfer certificate and the match has been awarded to Sabah with a 3-0 score. However, it did not matter much as Cebagoo won the match 1-0 and it only improved the club's scoring statistic with seven scored and five conceded after five matches played.
