Kota Kinabalu: Reithudin Ag Emran is to lead Sabah Cebagoo FC team as they aim to claim their second win at home this season against Kuantan Port today at the UMS Stadium at 4.15pm.
The return of the former state captain who had to sit out for a match suspension following his red card offence against ATM two matches ago is welcome news for coach Razal Zinin.
He said the presence of Reithudin is very important for the team as they try to better their home record of one win and two losses.
"You have to admit that Reithudin is a very experienced player and he may be lacking of pace due to his age, but his reading of the game is good and more than makes up for it and he wins far more tackles than people may think."
"Although we played well against YBU in our last match without him, he is still an essential part of the team and we need him to guide the young players."
Razali who is a former international said he hope the players will continue their winning momentum after the 2-0 win over YBU a week ago.
The coach guided the players through an hour of light playing sessions at D field in UMS on Saturday among the potential 11 starters and told Express Sports that he will opt for a 4-4-2 formation and will be looking for a win.
"We need the three point and without sounding too over confident, I honestly believe if the players can perform as well as they did against ATM in the second half with only 10 man on the pitch, I am sure the team could deliver the desired result."
