Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will look to follow on from their impressive 1-0 away win in Kelantan by naming a near unchanged side for the match with Perak in their President Cup clash today (Thursday) at the Likas Stadium at 4.15pm.
The only change coach Justin Ganai may consider is bringing in Gerald Sean Mojikon for Anwari Mohd Tajuddin on the right flank to try to get their first home win after the disappointing draw with Melaka in the opening match.
The coach when met at the stadium on Wednesday said he would not alter too much as he does not want to affect the momentum of the team and furthermore he is also in the dark over the depth of the Perak team.
"The team is getting better with each match and Sabri Sahar and Dedie Arizal in the engine room are also beginning to click with the other players as shown in the match against Kelantan."
"So I hope they can just build on the momentum and show more effort and try to win the game for the fans."
Sabah will again be relying on Rexjeston Pitrus to deliver the goals.
The new found hitman this season has scored two goals to date and he again showed his capability against Kelantan when he outpaced three defenders from outside the box before blasting home the goal.
He is likely to be partnered with Eyo Mathew at the start today with Zul Manshah Aling as a second half substitute.
Umareng Bacok will start at his usual left flank position while the back four who played so well against Kelantan will stay with captain Dendy Lowa and Rawilson Batul in central defence with Shazree Ruhif Ismail and Jenius Karib on the left and right position respectively while number one custodian Endre S Tipay will man the post.
