KOTA KINABALU, Jan 5 (Bernama) -- Sabah, who were at the wrong end of
the table last season, are determined not only to improve their Super
League standings this season but also to wrest the Malaysia Cup.
"We are upbeat about our chances this season following our formidable performance in friendlies against Sarawak and Brunei.
"We are determined to be a force to be reckoned with again," said Sabah team manager Shahriman Abdullah.
Bolstered by the presence of three newly acquired Australian players,
Brendan Gan and Michael Baird, Sabah trounced Brunei 4-0 at the Penampang
Stadium yesterday, much to the delight of their fans.
Sabah finished 10th in the Super League last season but escaped
relegation while in the Malaysia Cup, they failed to make it to the last
eight.
"We have been consistence of late and our Australian imports are
blending well with local players. We have a few tricks in our sleeves
and I hope they could prove fruitful," said Shahriman.
