Finally a victory for the Rhinos

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah salvaged lost pride after they outclassed Kuala Muda Naza in their Premier League encounter in Kedah, Tuesday.

The Rhinos now have four points through a win and a draw in four matches they have played thus far in the league. They are now placed eighth among the 11 teams competing in the league.

Currently leading the table is Johor FC with eight points followed by Police with 7, UPB-My Team (7), Kuala Lumpur (7), Armed Forces (7) while Kelantan and Kuala Muda Naza each have four points.

Team manager Rahman Zakaria said beating the clubside 2-1 is a sign that his charges are now more serious in their matches.

"Players displayed excellent improvement especially in their match against Kuala Muda," he said.

He said now that Sabah are regaining their momentum, he hoped their form would hold in every match they play. "I want them to maintain their true colours when playing their other matches in the league," he added.

Rahman said his charges played according to the plan drawn up by coach Drago Mamic in training.

"All the players showed they really deserve to be in the first eleven," he added.

"But whatever it is I hope they will continue giving their best and produce only the best result for Sabah."

In the match, Sabah's goals were scored by Nigerian striker Charles Obi in the 27th and 74th minute. Rahman said if the players keep to form, there should be no problems when they take on Kelantan on Jan 19 at Likas Stadium.
