Kota Kinabalu: Poor finishing again let Sabah down badly as they lost 2-0 to Pahang in their final first round President Cup match in Kuantan on Thursday.
The team played well in the match but failure to convert their numerous chances allowed the more clinical Pahang players to snatch a win with a goal in each half.
The loss was the team's fourth of the season and their second on the road.
They have collected a total of 23 points from five wins and eight draws and they will meet the same team again at the start of the second round tie here at the Likas Stadium on Monday (April 22).
