Kota Kinabalu: Sabah was routed 3-6 by Terengganu at their Super League match on Saturday.
Sabah's defence caved in as early as in the fourth minutes.
And they conceded two more in the 13th and 15th minute before Zainiazam Matjan scored in the 35th minute.
Terengganu regained their three goal advantage in the 44th minutes only for Sabah to pull one back through Australian Brandan Gan who netted his first goal for Sabah a minute later.
Rozaimi Abd Rahman then gave Sabah a lifeline after the re-start with his strike in the 66th minutes to make the score 3-4.
However, their attempts to salvage a point by attacking the opposition goal backfired as two quick counter attacks by Terengganu resulted in two more goals conceded in the 80th and 81st minutes.
And Bobby Gonzales added to the misery when he failed to convert a penalty towards the end of the game when he shot over the crossbar.
With the loss Sabah dropped two places to eighth in the league table.
Their next games will be a home match against Selangor at the Likas Stadium on March 31.
